Garden Plots

Once again, we will make plots available for gardening in the Spring of 2008. Of course last year was the first year we toiled in the soil since the construction of the new administration building, and that in itself proved to be a lot of work for gardeners. In the Fall, we chisel plowed the plots and removed more of the debris. In the spring we plan to disk the soil and prepare for another season of gardening! Although a few gardeners found starting a brand new garden area too much work, many gardeners had very successful seasons. Certainly each new year will make the hobby less work and more joy!

Once the plots have been disked, they will be plotted and then returning gardeners will have first choice in choosing their plot. I expect to hold a lottery meeting sometime in late April or early May. For those new to the plots, here are a few of the details:

The Community Garden Plots are located to the East of the Township building.
Plots are approximately 15' x 30'.
There are four water spigots located throughout the garden.
Fee's for 2008 (approx):

$25 Residents
$35 Non-residents
$20 Senior residents
$30 Senior non-residents

Residents of Plainfield Township will be given first priority for choosing plots.
