I was raised on the family farm in Plainfield and attended the Plainfield Public schools graduating from Plainfield High School. I earned two degrees at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and am a practicing attorney with offices in Plainfield and DuPage County .I have served Plainfield Township first as the Township attorney and then as Township Supervisor since 2002. As Supervisor, along with the board of trustees and administrative staff, we oversaw the construction of our new building complex, the first permanent facility built specifically for Township government. With the completion of this project we are now turning our attention to the various programs we offer, seeking to expand and improve the existing programs and add services to better meet your needs. Sam Reichert, Highway Commissioner

Responsibilities include road maintenance, signs, limb pick-up, crack seal program and snow removal.Sam was born and raised in Plainfield and is a graduate of Plainfield High School . He worked for the family business until opening his own service station and towing business. Currently in his second term as Highway Commissioner, Sam was hired by the township and worked for five and one half years before being appointed as Highway Commissioner to replace the retiring, Tom Leonard.

Ken McCafferty, Trustee

Currently in his second term as Township Trustee, Ken was appointed to the board in 2002 to fill a vacancy. Prior to the appointment, he held the position of Township Tax Collector. A father of five children and husband to Christine, Ken attended Lewis University earning a Bachelors Degree in Business Management. After a 13 year career in retail management, he is currently a Certified Elementary School Teacher, teaching in Plainfield. Ken is also pursuing a Masters Degree in Education at the University of St. Francis. Ken is active with many organizations in the community and is a parishioner of St. Mary Immaculate Church. For the past five years Ken has organized the annual coat drive benefiting those less fortunate among us.As Trustee, Ken oversees the publication of the "Township News and Views" semi-annual newsletter and works with Plainfield Park District Senior Coordinator, Kathy Whalen, offering services for the seniors. Ken is also the coordinator of the Plainfield Township Presents . . . program. This program has brought over 30 different presentations to the people of the township since 2005 all at no cost to the residents.

Kim Sandstrom, Trustee
Responsible for the youth program.As a mother of three children, I have a great concern for the children in the township and that is the reason I ran for office. I've been married for 27 years and am currently employed with the government as an officer. Prior to that I was employed by the Plainfield Police Department. As your Township Trustee, as I have always done, I will continue to look out for our taxpayers and how tax dollars are spent. If any residents have any ideas for youth programs, I am always available and welcome new ideas.

Chuck Willard, Trustee
Trustee Chuck Willard has served as the emergency coordinator for Plainfield Township for over 9 years. During this time, he has coordinated emergency relief efforts for Plainfield Township on everything from tornados and floods to ice storms. Trustee Willard works closely with the Township Highway Department and other emergency agencies; such as the Village of Plainfield Emergency Management Agency and Will County EMA. This cooperation between agencies ensures quick and efficient responses to disasters.Trustee Willard is also a Lieutenant on the Joliet Fire Department where he has worked for the last 15 years. Before that, he worked in the petroleum and chemical equipment business where he was a member of several technical response teams.

Anita Gerardy, Township Clerk
I have been a resident of Plainfield since 2000. I am retired from the medical field after working for 30 years. The last position I held was as an administrator for 100 multi-specialty orthopaedic physicians in Chicago. I received my training at the University of Chicago. I am an active member of St. Mary Immaculate Church, volunteering as a baptismal assistant and a part of the Campus Restoration Team. I am also a Master Gardener, certified University of Illinois extension in Joliet.As your Township Clerk, some of my duties include, but not limited to, passport application processing, notary public, keeping records for all official meetings and swearing in of township elected officials.
I am looking forward to serving the residents of the township today, and in the future.

Steve Cammack, Tax Collector
In January of 2008, I was appointed to the position of Tax Collector. I have a desire to serve the residents of Plainfield Township and I believe this position will allow me to do just that,serve. My wife sherry and I have two beautiful daugthers, Abby and Hannah. We have lived in Plainfield Township since 1999 and very much enjoy our community. In my full time roll, I am a Police Officer. I am also involved in the community as the co-president of the PTO at my daughters school,the chairman of the Plainfield Township Republican Organization. and a member of the City of Joliet Plan Commission. I have several goals in mind as your tax collector. I hope to be involved in all aspects of the township, participate with the committees that the trustees chair and finally, I will help direct the future of the township and remain available to the residents.[back to trustees] [email me] [top of page]

As an employee since May of 1997, I have worked under the direction of the Township Supervisor; first with former Supervisor Karen Callanan and presently with Supervisor John Argoudelis.My primary responsibility as Administrator is to oversee the day to day operations of the township as well as administer General and Emergency Assistance.
A resident of Plainfield since 1970, I attended Plainfield public schools and graduated from Plainfield Central High School. I also have a college degree from the International Academy of Merchandising and Design, Ltd. in Chicago.
My husband and I live in Plainfield with our twin daughters.

In March 2007, I joined the Plainfield Township team as the Administrative Assistant in the Supervisor's Office. My previous experience includes a degree in horticulture as well as a lengthy background in sales and management. I have spent time volunteering on my homeowners association and eventually joined the board of directors.As administrative assistant, some of my responsibilities include the senior transit system, processing passport applications, notary public, scheduling meeting room events, loaning equipment from the medical loan closet and overseeing general maintenance of the township building.
I look forward to continuing to serve the township residents in the years to come.
